More Modelling Tips
Here are some more tips submitted by Kath, an agent from Oska’s Agency in Cardiff.
Be reliable
Reliability is a very important. Models who are late, don’t turn up for work, or accept assignments and meetings that they cannot attend will eventually stop being considered for jobs.
Keep in touch with your agency
Always update you agency with new contact numbers etc. Models have a habit of changing mobiles fortightly. Don’t complain that you have had no work if you don’t even contact your agent.
Look after your teeth
Correct any teeth imperfections, see a good private dentist or a specialist on the NHS.
Don’t bite your nails
A model must have attractive, well cared-for fingernails. Never go to a job or go-see with chipped nail-varnish.
Own a passport
When that call for a foreign assignment comes, you don’t want to have to turn it down.
Model’s kit
Have a good basic wardrobe including a smart business-like suit, court shoes, a classic black dress, bikini, blue jeans and white shirt. Girls – If you are not comfortable shooting in a bikini don’t consider modelling unless you want to specialise in being a hand or foot model.
Get access to a car
This depends on your market. If you’re based in London or New York you probably don’t need a car. But in South Wales reliable personal transport is essential.
